We never understood people who said that their perfect life consisted of an island getaway until today. This place, in the Bahamas, a private island owned and operated by Disney, is amazing. It might be the Disney touch, even down to the plethora of bathrooms, gift shops, and yes, even a tram, but this was the best day we have had by far!!!
We started the day parasailing. Yes we both went up 400 feet, connected to the world below by a nylon rope, while being pulled upward by a large parachute. Josh even got “dipped” in the water before being pulled back into the boat. Great experience! We then made our way down to the private cabanas by the adult only beach for an hour long massage. Very nice. Then we rushed back, just in time to make our Jet Ski tour around the island. You know, we have both ridden jet skis many times. But nothing compares to skimming over crystal blue water, with land in sight only on one side. We rode out far into the ocean and saw several small islands surrounding Castaway Cay, and it was very cool to be in the middle of the ocean on these things. When we come back, we will find a way to do this again.
The weather held as long as it could, and then by about 3:30 it came down in buckets. We got back on the ship and had our farewell dinner at Parrot Cay. Alicia brought us all the desserts again. What great people Disney employs. They are the real difference. We have found ourselves planning on coming back, and it is the Disney touch that has made the difference. From our friendly Jamaican stateroom hostess, who left us a different “towel animal” every night, to the servers and workers all over the ship, these are great people who understand service. It is nice to be here. We thought that we may never find a better way to travel than to the two parks on the two coasts. We were wrong.
