Today was our first full day in California Adventure. We have passed through the park several times coming and going to the Grand Californian, home sweet home, but today was the first full day in that park. This time of year is quickly becoming a favorite time, low crowds, happy kids, and great weather. It hovered in the mid to upper 60's today, and we did not feel too cold until we made our way back from the Rainforest Cafe this evening.
We entered the park about 30 minutes before it opened, and since there were very few people there, we actually broke tradition and took a picture with a character. This is the first picture with a Non-Water Fowl Disney character that we have taken in many years. But the line of two or three people was too much to pass up. We went on Soarin', getting off after a great ride a full 5 minutes before the park officially opened. We got on Toy Story Mania after a short 20 minute wait and Alex rode California Screamer, twice, while the younger kids rode the Carousel. Tyler checked another item off his list as he rode the newly named "Mickey's Fun Wheel" and then he and Al rode Mullholland Madness, perhaps for the last time before the Goofy conversion, while Grace and Jonah went on the Golden Zephyr. Awww to be young again. Jonah loves the Zephyr, it makes him feel like he is flying. Love that kid!
We got all of this done by noon. We had some lunch, took a quick ride on Tower of Terror and Monster's Inc., then made our way back to the River run. Gracie is finally tall enough, and has been looking forward to this for 6 months. She got soaked, which she loved, and we walked of the ride and were into our room at the hotel 7 minutes later. We went down to swim and then hit dinner. A great, slow paced leisurely day.
Here are the days pics. We've got Goofy (hey, is he putting a move on Megin?), the before picture on Grizzly River Rapids (the after is not appropriate for this or any setting), and the three kids swimming (how they can enjoy 60 minutes in 18 inches of water is beyond any of us). The last photo is Grace, courtesy of Aunt Jocalyn and her magical flat iron. Is it just us, or did this already beautiful girl, become stunning?
